| About Kutai Kartanegara Kutai Kartanegara is the name
of a regency (kabupaten) in East Kalimantan province, Republic of Indonesia. Kutai
Kartanegara is also known as the oldest kingdom in Indonesia.
This region is not only rich with
natural resources like oil and gas, gold, coal, wood, etc, but also rich with the culture
heritage of Kutai and Dayak. Kutai Kartanegara has contributed millions of US dollars to
Jakarta and elsewhere from the exploitation of its natural resources.
Despite many Indonesian recognize
Kutai Kartanegara as the richest regency in Indonesia, many of its people live in poverty
and backwardness because of unbalanced development under Suharto regime.
With the new spirit of regional
autonomy and Gerbang Dayaku (development program of Kutai Kartanegara), this region has
been enforcing development in human resources, infrastructure and other supporting
facilities.
With all the potentials and its
